Dr Thomas James Ellwood

Dr Thomas Ellwood is a Consultant Anaesthetist with extensive experience in elective surgery and perioperative medicine. His role begins before the day of surgery, reviewing each patient’s medical history, answering questions about anaesthesia and planning an approach appropriate to the individual and the procedure.

During surgery, he is responsible for anaesthesia, physiological monitoring and comfort, working closely with Dr Mercer and the theatre team throughout. He also oversees the immediate recovery period, with particular attention to pain relief, nausea prevention and a smooth transition from theatre to postoperative care.
